My fiancé and I have been loyal customers at Rock & Roll Sushi for a long time. We come in every Friday night, order the same things, spend good money, and have always had a great experience. The food has always been delicious, the waitstaff has always been pleasant, and this has truly been my favorite sushi spot. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience last Saturday. We waited over 45 minutes for our sushi rolls while parties on both sides of us who arrived after us were seated, served, and left before we ever received our rolls. After waiting and waiting, we eventually decided to cancel our order out of frustration. Because we are such loyal customers, we were hoping there would be some acknowledgment or effort to make the situation right. We do not expect anything for free, but even a small gesture of appreciation would have meant a lot and shown that our continued business was valued. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Love love love love love! We came here on Friday, June 12th, to start a bachelorette trip and holy cow! First of all, the atmosphere in there is so beautiful and feels upscale, but intimate(we had a group of 7 and we all were able to talk and laugh the entire time). Second, the service! I wish beyond anything I could remember our waitress’ name but she was phenomenal! She was super attentive without over doing it, our waters never went dry, and we always had a cocktail. She gave great recommendations and was able to accommodate someone in our groups specific dietary needs to a T. Now for the part you all want to know, the drinks and food: for drinks we all got at least 2 cocktails and they were perfect! They weren’t too strong in the alcohol taste, but a few of the girls were feeling really good once we left. The sushi was so dang good! The different flavor profiles work so well together and all of the rolls are so unique! We did have some girls get something other than sushi and they loved their food! We love rock ‘n’ roll sushi! The chef specials are always on point. There are several options for non-sushi eaters, excellent bartenders and waiters friendly.

Disappointing Experience at Rock ‘n’ Roll Sushi – Padre Island I rarely take the time to write reviews, but my recent visit to Rock ‘n’ Roll Sushi on Padre Island was such a letdown, I feel compelled to share. To start, the vegetarian sushi roll I ordered was by far the worst I’ve ever had. It arrived smothered in a mound of old seaweed salad, clearly an attempt to cover the visibly brown, oxidized avocado underneath. One bite confirmed my suspicion—it tasted metallic, almost like rust. Fresh ingredients are the bare minimum at a sushi bar, and this was unacceptable. While waiting a staggering 20 minutes for a single cocktail, I couldn’t help but notice the lack of professionalism behind the sushi bar. Staff stood around laughing while dishes piled up and guests waited. The atmosphere behind the counter felt chaotic and careless, not what you’d expect from a place that charges full price for subpar food and service. So we decided to go here for dinner. The parking lot was packed, and we thought that the crowd was for the other restaurants surrounding this place. No it wasn't. We walked in and the place was full of people. The hostess asked if we had reservations, we didn't, and we began to worry that we wouldn't get to eat here. In the end they made room for us and sat us down. The place has a couple of options for the people who don't like seafood, so there are options. The place has rolls that had names of rock and roll bands or artists. I ordered the dark side of the moon. Another person ordered the Rainbow and a 3rd ordered a roll with beef and shrimp. The 4th person ordered a slider and fries. Let me say that all looked amazing and all tasted great. The rolls were bigger than I expected. We will definitely make it back here to try other rolls.
